MELD, an orchestral suite in six movements, is almost completely made from a 112 note series
which functions more like a long melody that you can remember
than a dodecaphonic tone row would; the difference being that a 12 tone row is usually cycled constantly,
against many versions of itself over rather short periods of time, and generally transposed and/or transformed quite a lot, whereas the much longer 112 note series might happen just once in the whole duration of a given piece.

PLUTONYX is a polyrhythmic mini marimba concerto using both the forward and backward forms of the series. It has a kind of "mirror"
in the middle, and the music goes exactly backwards from the there onwards, which you can easily hear if you listen for it.
This shape is referred to as a "palindrome".
FORGETLESSNESS is canonic, but only uses half the series in that format before changing into
a set of chords which are likewise derived from the remainder of the series.
EMBLEM is essentially a strict canon in four voices using only the prime (forward) form
of the 112 note series just once while traveling from voice to voice.
The basic idea for the suite was to make the very long series "meld" into different shapes by
"pouring" it into a multiplicity of different rhythms and tone colors.
The live performance recording below was the original source for pitch material and style.
